Mars Rover team takes third at competition

The Brigham Young University Mars Rover team competed against 31 teams from 15 countries in the three-day 2023 University Rover Competition the first week of June. They landed third place overall, making their way back onto the winners podium at the Mars Desert Research Station for the first time since 2017.

This year the team had the opportunity to have the competition covered by KUER, a charter member of National Public Radio (NPR). Their efforts were captured in an article by KUER titled “Mars is the goal, but first, these students must conquer Utah’s red desert.” See the full article for details of the competition.
