Department Requirements for Admission

Requirements for admission are set by the university and by the Mechanical Engineering Department. For university requirements visit the Graduate Studies website. The following are departmental requirements:

• BS degree in mechanical engineering or an allied field (engineering, physical, or mathematical sciences).
• Statement of Intent
• Resume
• 3 Letters of Recommendation
• (Optional) Graduate Records Exam (GRE): Applicants may voluntarily submit GRE scores if they would like to provide an additional data point for faculty to consider when reviewing applications.
• International students must follow University requirements regarding English Proficiency exams. Visit this site for additional information.
