Research and Design: My Engineering Adventure

Abstract
Earning his PhD in mechanical engineering at BYU opened a wide array of possibilities for Brett Stone. Those opportunities turned into an exciting career in the aerospace and defense industry and now research and education. From helping to design and test rockets, satellites, and space exploration tools to making airline travel cleaner and teaching the engineering design process and other topics to university students, he’s thoroughly enjoying his professional experience.

Biography
Dr. Brett Stone earned his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering in 2012 from BYU-Idaho. He earned his PhD (mechanical engineering) from BYU in 2016. He worked as an aerospace design engineer for Northrop Grumman and now is a professor for Utah Valley University. He lives in Lehi with his wife and three children.
