Robust parametric modeling, advanced surface modeling, rapid prototyping technologies, entrepreneurship, light electric vehicles.

Background
Prior to teaching at BYU, Professor Christensen worked as a design engineer for Graco Children's Products and Estes Rockets. He is currently the principle design engineer with Idea Zone Product Development which he started in 2006. He has consulted for a variety of consumer product and consumer electronic companies. In 2013, he started JigaWatt Cycles with the goal of bringing the fun and freedom of electric bicycles to a larger audience.

Research

Application of complex system engineering and analysis to social impact practices and technology.

Background
Doctor Busse worked for nearly 15 years at MIT Lincoln Laboratory, where he started in missile defense, but the moved into other complex problems, including alternative energy, small satellite design, border protection, and disaster response. He then went on to work for Hala Systems, protecting Syrian civilians from airstrikes. Following his time there, he worked on system design at MiiM, Inc.

Background
He is currently working as a Science and Engineering, R&D Computer Scientist at Sandia National Laboratories researching next generation simulation technologies.
